If MPG matters then the test needs to be repeated at comparable speeds. The F-250 went up the hill faster and should be no surprise that more fuel was consumed.
If you watch the videos, you will see that most times, the trucks were FLOORED going on the uphill portion while trying to maintain a given speed. They did not choose to drive one slower than the other. It is a timed event to climb 8 miles with 16k hooked to the truck and they abide to a max MPH speed. If a truck has a slower time, it struggled more to maintain speed on the steep sections. Have you ever been on the Ike? It can be very tough for loaded trucks.
