Ford 7000 Head Gasket Repair

Hello all! New to the forum. Had a question on the Ford 7000. Did it come in gas as well as diesel? Or just diesel? Reason I'm asking is we ordered a new head gasket kit and it came with the gas intake gasket as well as everything else included in the kit. The new head gasket seemed a bit thinner than the original as well. Unfortunately we had no luck with the repair and have to redo it. Thinking maybe the wrong kit was sent?? Tractor Data shows only diesel for the 7000

I think the gasket set you got is for several different engines, gas and diesel, that all use many of the same gaskets with just the few necessary odd ones thrown in. Fairly common practice of gasket suppliers, keeps inventory numbers down. Ford in the past has built engines that used many of the same gaskets like the early hundred series 4 cylinder diesel/gas engines for example. I would try a different brand of gasket.

The head gasket kits from New Holland do not include the head gasket.
The 5000 came as gas or diesel, the 7000 did not Also, different intake gaskets for different manifolds come in the kits.

You should have a F1NN6051BA head gasket which is replaced by 87800517. Either number is correct.

Could take your old head gasket to a machine shop and they'll make you a new one out of copper.

When an aftermarket runs about $30 to 50. a machine shop couldn't touch for that price.

He said it's thinner. Industrial things have copper gaskets. I'd try it myself.
