Ford 744 loader bucket is SELF CURLING

Good afternoon.

I have a 1990 260c with 744 loader. The control valve appears to have leak or something internal. The curl circuit will self curl when your let go of the joystick. IT is also bubbling aerated fluid out of one of the caps on top.

Ive no idea on where to start with this. Anyone have some pointers or direction? Im open to rebuilding if possible or replacing the whole control valve if that ends up being easier in the long run

Hi and welcome to the forum.

From the pictures, I'm a bit worried why I am only seeing 5 lines, instead of at least 6. Meaning, it's missing the Tank line and that may be why it could have damaged the valve internally.

Depending on the hydraulic circuit, it should have 6 or 7 lines. 1 - Pressure in, 1 - Tank, 1 - Power beyond (in a 7 line setup) and 4 lines to the loader for the cylinders.

Can you provide more details about this tractor? How long have you owned it? Has it always been like this (5 lines) or was something that got changed?

Looks like some new hoses have been put on. Was it doing this prior to the new hoses?
