ovrszd - NO. My second FOB for the Taco Wagon came programed. Every six months or so - I switch FOBs. My concern - those little nickle sized batteries could go dead. I carry an extra battery with me in the Taco Wagon.

Not sure what the NO relates to?

Not being able to access the vehicle because of a dead FOB battery is a minor inconvenience. Losing the FOB and having no access to the vehicle is very, very expensive.

ovrszd - back a ways - post#18 - you indicated getting a second FOB programed would be the major expense. I'm simply indicating - my second FOB came already programed.

Here's what I said:

The cost of the fob is secondary. The Pain In the Butt is your vehicle has to go to the dealership to program the new FOB. Without a FOB to drive the vehicle, it has to be towed...... Those two things make it very costly.

Meaning, if you find yourself without a FOB it gets very expensive very quickly.

Far as I know every new vehicle comes with two keys or FOBs.

Ram is actually a separate company. Dodge is gonna be gonzo pretty soon.

I am a Ford guy. But I bought a Ram because the Ford Dealer ticked me off. Glad I did. It's twice the truck and the Cummins just can't be beat.

But I'm still a Ford guy. If I ever buy another new one, I'll look at Ford first.

And probably end up with a Ram.

In non-diesel, 1/2-ton trucks, that EcoBeast is freaking incredible. I like turbocharged engines. :)

I was a Ford guy, too. Got rid of 3 Superduties for my RAM 5500 and my Jeep Rubicon.
Love both vehicles so far (2 years)
Never could understand the obsession guys had with the Cummins diesel in a small truck.
Now I know what they were talking about.
