As long as you have it apart, do a complete front bushing set. Do the springs and hangers, sway bar ect. There are also some bushings where the IFS bolts/pivots on the truck frame. Check those. As long as you're doing the work and have 1/2 apart, it would be worth at least looking at those.
Get some good penetrating fluid. Hit every nut and bolt on that front end every night for a week. Some of those bolts can be a bear.
While the spring shop is at it, an extra leaf would probably help. That diesel is pretty heavy up there.
This does sound like a TBN work party... 4 or 5 people could get this going pretty quick. A couple under the truck, a couple handing wrenches and advice, someone handling the bbq and beverages /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Have to meet twice though. One saturday to tear it apart, and the next saturday to put it back together after getting the springs back /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
