Ford finally came to their senses

With the deals Ford has on the 16's right now, that explains why I'm seeing more and more of this new body style around. They aren't planning on letting GM get their foot in the door anytime soon. I also think Ford Corporate had a come to Jesus meeting with some dealers because the attitudes are night and day from what im used to. They easily knocked off 22% off the msrp and didn't bat an eye. Where they made up the difference on me is a mystery because I have no clue, and I've gone over the numbers several times.

This 2.7 will smoke, I can only immagine what they 3.5 feels like. I can see me being happy with this truck for a long time. Any tips on maintaining a turbo engine? No sea foam, I've heard that. That include in the gas tank too?
5K oil changes preferably with synthetic or at a minimum semi synthetic.

Isn't that the truth. My last truck purchase & currently own is a 2002 3/4 ton ext. cab. It is still hard for me to think I paid $20,000. That is, until I see the prices on current 1/2 ton trucks. It won't be long at these rates, that "Owning" an automobile will be impossible for the average person.
It seems like yesterday they were advertising brand new trucks for $2000.00.

Your exactly right about those coolers. They're very heavy when loaded down, much less empty. You'd be surprised how many people are coming into the dealership and buying a vehicle and getting a cooler. I saw 3 in the hour that I was there. Insane!

If anybody really wants an "extreme" cooler check out RTIC. Same design as the major ones like Yeti, Orca, etc. but half the price and a longer warranty (7 years vs. 5):

RTIC – Half the Price of YETI Coolers & Holds More Ice!

The new 150 is a great truck, miles ahead of anything else in its class. Congrats.

Congratulations on the new truck, and hey, $33k, what a deal!

I just bought the same truck, same year, with the 5.0 L. And that 302A package, what a lovely package! Mine just happened to have the navigation option, which I would normally never buy, but now that I have it, I love it!

Congratulations again. You were going to really really really really love that truck!👍😜

My first truck was a 95 reg cab Toyota 4x4 manual. I wanna say it was $13,xxx. I do remember the extended cab with auto (same truck) was only $500 more. That was back when extended cabs and autos weren't cool in a truck. Everyone wanted the reg cab and manual. Those were the days!

I still like the regular cab and manual. :)

I've got the 2015 with the 2.7 ecoboost. It had 10,086 miles on it when a bought it, 18,137 yesterday when I filled the gas tank, so I've only put 8,051 miles on it. It has gotten mileage as high as 23.020 mpg, but overall it's been 20.934 mpg. Of course most of my driving is city driving in moderate to heavy traffic, and I do use the A/C.

Not in the tank either. You don't want to put anything through the system that burns "hotter" than traditional gasoline. The overheated exhaust temps will burn up the little turbos used on these engine.

My personal maintenance advice would be frequent oil and filter changes, frequent air filter changes, frequent fuel filter changes, and use good fuel. I did my first oil change at 4xxx miles and am getting ready to do my second oil change this weekend. I'll be hitting 10k on the odometer. I switched to full synthetic oil (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum) and use Motorcraft filters. I change my air filter any time I change the oil. I plan on sticking with a 6000 mile interval for the life of the truck.

Ford recommends oil changes anywhere from 4000 to 10000 miles depending on your driving conditions.

Place on the radio here is advertising new CM Silverado pickups for less than $20k and Cruzes for less than$15k if ya want cheap, and they'll finance it "even when yer own grandmamma won't loan you a nickel"...

My '15 Lariat stickered at over $49k and I got it for just over $38k. Timing is crucial... Fact that today's so-called 1/2ton trucks can do the work of the so-called 3/4 ton trucks of ten years ago is where a lot of cost increases on the base models come from. The fact a lot of the gadgets on the higher trim levels didn't exist ten years ago is why the prices on the high end have skyrocketed.

Not to go too far off subject. Wife just bought me the Rtic 45 for father's day, and a good friend just down the street from me got a Yeti 45 from his wife. Sitting both on the same tail gate, the rope handle was the Only diffence.

I like it, but even empty they are heavy.

I thought about starting a thread about the premium coolers and aswing opinions but never bothered.
