Ford mileage claims sparks lawsuit

I believe, if you do the research, you will find the reason for the Monroney sticker displaying the vehicle's MPG is for comparison with like models of vehicles. As far as obtaining the published MPG's, very few will so extinguish those expectations.

A vehicle is stored in an area that is temperature and humidity controlled before it is dynoed where it is emissions certified and its MPG's are calculated. Manufactures have drag values of the vehicle that is applied to the measured MPG's. If all manufacturers calculate the MPG's in the same way, then the MPG numbers on the Monroney sticker are accurate for comparing like vehicles.

I have a 2016 MB Sprinter with the 4cyl Diesel..it gets a honest 24/25 mpg, which I think is great for something as big as it is. It just turned 55k miles and a few months back I had looked into trading it for the new redesigned Sprinter...only to find out that thy no longer offer the 4cyl...due to it not meeting emissions ..... and MB apparently has no intention of bringing it up to current requirements. ....So I'm keeping it. The 6cly Diesel is getting 18-19 mpg and has a little ..but not a lot more power...not worth it to trade and use more fuel and money to do so.

And now, I have three GPS units. The one built in to the Taco Wagon digital dashboard ( Garmin ). It has no annual fee. A hand held Garmin GPS unit. The BMW Motorrad Nav V( Garmin ) that will work on the motorcycle or anywhere else.

I think if you check a little more closely that you will find you have four GPS units. Your iPhone has a built in GPS receiver and comes with a Map app to use it.

You might even have five units if you haven't chucked the Android - and the GPS still works even if you don't have a data plan. Although if you didn't download maps for offline use beforehand it won't be much use out in the field.

dnw64 - I'm sure you are correct. Between my new Apple XR iPhone and the software on the Taco Wagon - I'm still in a "High Tech" fog. I still take my Canon camera with me to take pictures. Haven't figured out how to transfer from the new iPhone to this computer.

Am I old fashion - you bet. It's the iPhone to make phone calls. It's the Canon for pictures. It's my hand held Garmin or my BMW Nav V if I ever need navigation. It's this Apple computer here if I need to be on the internet. Yes, I know the Apple iPhone can do it all. But not in my hands - not yet. Maybe some day in the future........
