It is a 'saving my ***' tractor. The guy who does our private road is 62 and health is so-so. This is my attempt at being independent. I am 1.2 km from paved, ploughed road. And if something were to happen to him, I'd be in trouble (vis-a-vis winter snows) I got the tractor for $7100 cdn, and it has 1150 hrs on it. It runs great and I am in the information technology field and I wanted something that was going to get me working with my hands. But it seems Im working the phones (LOL). I would at some point like to learn about the mechanical side of it, ergo the cheaper, used tractor. I've ordered the operators manual and for ***** and giggles the "Service Manual" for light reading in the winter.

I have a buddy who is mechanically inclined and he can show me some stuff, but I want to ease into this easily. There is no way in **** I'm taking this thing apart unless I have to. But I like the idea of reading up on it, for what good it may do, who knows...

Are you sure the wheels are set as narrow as they can be? Over 6' sounds wide even for those tires. Were the wheels set wide for mowing hillsides by chance?

Would custom made hot dip galvanized used rims in a 24" size, with flat centers that can easily be drilled to your bolt pattern interest you? I have some extra ones that I have ripped the tires on, and just grabbed another instead of having the tire dismounted/remounted. Dismounting the old tire, shipping to you would have to be considered, since I am in Jacksonville, Florida

Not very good pictures, but I had them. The center plate is half inch thick steel. I drilled the hole size out to fit my JD2555. The pattern was right, just bolt hole too small.

What is the offset of my rims and what will they cost me delivered?

From web they have 3.75 to outer edge on one side and 8.5 on the other. Web is 1/2 thick. Rim is 26" diameter with 14.9-24 inch tires mounted on them. (I wish they were 26 inch rims as they are a little short for my tractor)

I think the shipping from FL would kill me, and if the solution didn't work.. I'd have two nice flower pots

I will wait until this last guy calls me back and see what he has to offer. I measured it again and her arse is almost 7 feet, and yes those turfs do set out quite a bit. Every time I see TractorData.com, a 1920 with those AG's make my whiskers twitch.

If I ever pull this off, the next project is the blower, a five footer.

This is almost as much work as when I installed my 1.5kw photovoltaic system two years ago..

I wouldn't ship them either, until I KNEW that they would solve the problem. It is only a 3600 mile round trip, so you should be able to run down this weekend and pick them up and be ready to go back to work on Monday!(LOL!!)

Given the winter we just had, I would probably do the drive.

Now, I think I mentioned this in a post, but if I went with 26" or 28" rims, I assume I could still get a 13.6 ag tire, and what size would the front rims have to be? (if someone wishes to do the calc)

I like the tractor, and one of my buddies said, sell it, chalk it up to a mistake and buy a new one, but I think a new tractor with the same power as the 1920 up here would run me 20k+ (including our beloved taxes).

SoundGuy mentioned I must maintain the circumference ratio, as well I may end up with a slightly faster tractor at any given gear. I'm ok with that, since I think I will have better luck with a 26 or 28" rim. I mean, they build monster trucks right?

I should be hearing from one other source today (CASE), he mentioned also that Kubota uses a 24" rim.

An increase in tire rolling circumference makes a lot of difference in the lowest speeds of a tractor. Just remember, you can always go up a gear when your tractor needs to work a little faster, but when your in a tight place, or pulling an extreme load, you can't go any slower than the lowest gear, and my experience has been that I want to go slower a lot more times than I run out of high side gears....
Consider this well, as a set of tires/wheels is no small investment, especially when you change sizes which mandates you change the fronts also.

For most tasks I go in what I call C1. I have, what I call A,B,C and then 1,2,3,4. A1 has got to be slug slow and I have never used it, even B4 is incredibly slow. For snowblowing I would use B2, so if I got larger tires, I would drop to A3 I think. At the end of the day I may have to go to new holland and pay for OEM rims and tires , front and back, which will be close to $3500 cdn.

I was researching turf tires on this site when i happened across your post. I am in charge of the grounds at a boat club in eastlake ohio. we have a ford 1920 4x4 with ag tires. The club is mostly paved and grass but we have a beach area also. We are interested in switching to turf tires as it would better suite our needs. Perhaps a trade would benefit both of us.

I am also in the same boat I have Turf tires on my 2120 and want to go to ag tires willing to buy or teade If you know where any are or where you find some any help would be thankfull

Well, folks, I found a set of used AG tires and Rims in New York state. $950 for the set, but the shipping is the killer, $875 to Canada (East Coast)

But alas I am a happy man

Well, after months of searching, it is done.

Uses tires and rims for a total cost of $1800 cdn, shipping was crazy, $900

But we put them on and she rides nice
