I honestly have no idea. I didn't phone, I just kind of monitor their website for used/like new implements. I'm not sure I would consider the price high though. If it truly is "like new". Keep in mind that is in CDN. According to the local JD dealer who I just called their MSRP for the 10 series with Slip clutch is about $2800 and the 15 series is "a little over $3000". Both for the 42"!!!! Seems to me at that price the used one sounds pretty darn good! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Hey ... I have every intention of coming "home" at some point ... no matter where I've wandered, always ended back in the Edmonton/north area.

Canuk .... you don't think the tiller will handle the soil without the scraper first? The crap I have in my pasture here ... after the top soil was removed before I bought it( surprise! ) was pretty solid clay with lots of rocks percolating to the top. My L3710 took one pass - with a King Kutter tiller - to chop it into powder (well, ok, powder and chunks and rocks)

I did the conversion using 66cents to the dollar, and felt the price was a little high for a 42" 10 series. Maybe they just cost more in Canada, or I'm way off on the exchange rate.

$1500 for a larger 15 series with a slip clutch seems like a good deal to me. I think $1600 is about the quote I got on a 15-50. Might even have done a little better if the dealer hadn't steered me to the Del Morino.

Well, I decided to buy a new tiller instead of the $1600 used 52" Ford when the dealer offered a $350 discount off the original $2200 list price for a new 40" Agric. The new machine is better suited to my machine and what passes for soil around here, plus it has a 1 yr warranty.
Thanks to everyone for their great comments!

Now to convince my wife that the tiller is really for her and the horses...!

Did you still buy from Aiken's?? I talked to the owner there when I was "shopping" and he basically said "Get your best deal you can find then come see me and I guarantee I'll beat it." I didn't bother as I figured I'd rather pay a little more and have local support but he sure seemed like a straight up kind of dealer. Is that where you bought your Kubota too??

Yes I did buy from Aikens'. I bought the tractor, box scraper, tiller, and a Farm King 6' rear blade from them. I can't speak for others but so far my experience with them has been good. Their service work has been fine as well.

It's been difficult to compare prices on used equipment between dealers since they seldom have equivalent stock, but interestingly I bought my new Kubota 54" MMM from the local John Deere dealer at a big discount! The JD also has a new Kubota front mount snowblower but it's out of my price range.
I have not compared any of the rural implement dealers but I'd guess their prices might be lower. Buying from the U.S. is not really an option since exchange and shipping are killers.

Have you canadians dealt with www.easternfarmmachinery.com they are up there somewhere, their quoted prices seem good but shipping to California is a killer.

I've never dealt with them. I have perused their website from time to time, but I've always been able to get everything I wanted locally without having to order and have it shipped.
