Weight generally doesn't effect highway mpg nearly as much as it does city mpg.
Eco Boost and a 8 speed plus the 800# weight loss and some areo tricks. It will happen.

True, it's mostly aerodynamics at highway speeds, but weight does play a part of it. Hills? Getting to highway speed? Passing?
I agree. Still don't see them getting near 30 with a gas engine in the near future in a full size truck. They aren't even tops right now, far from it actually. I just can't see them getting 5 mpg better than what the V6 Ram is rated at.
At least not without dropping a 4BT Cummins in it! Haha
It's going to be tough, I will say that. They may not hit 30, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see 28 or 29.
I would. I say 26. 27 max.
Small displacement, forced induction engines haven't yet proved capable of getting stellar mpg.
I will say that I will be surprised if it is under 28.
Well, it's possible the engines and trannies may not be available until 2016 MY, so, if that is the case, I could see 26-27 for 2015 MY and 28+ for the 2016 MY. With new engines and trannies, it will be up to at least 28.
So you are saying that you believe that they will leapfrog GM and Ram by 4 and 3 mpg?
I know that Ford has some 'better ideas', but nothing that good.
