When you are plowing, will the left side of the tractor be higher than the right. Would this allow for a different adjustment on the side link?

Yes, the left wheel will be 6" higher than the right wheel, which will be down in a furrow. When the right wheel is in the furrow, the 3-Pt. is adjusted so plow is level left-to-right and fore-and-aft when plowing.

Thanks for your opening setup suggestion. I'll add it to my list of setups/adjustments to try.

Not owning that tractor, I could be wrong and the plow may not work, but my gut instinct says to try it before doing anything radical.

I would slowly and carefully try to use it though. Move the plow to the left so the outside edge of the first share lines up with inside of your right tire. That's about where you'll have it running when you're in the ground. When you have it there, then adjust the rockshaft (landing lever) so the plow sits straight behind the tractor. The plow will also have to rotate a little counter clockwise (looking from rear) on the hitch to cut level when you get a tire in the furrow. The inch or so of clearance when you're hooking up to it on the level may be enough.

If it looks like you have enough clearance to get it into the ground for a couple of passes, try it slow and adjust top link so plow doesn't nose up or down. Adjust length of lift link to level sideways once you get in a furrow. It helps to get the rear tire in first and eyeball it before you drop the plow and plunge in. You may or may not find it necessary to move the lift link attachment point to one of the other holes on the draft link also here. (should be covered in tractor operation manual) Then adjust the rockshaft again if necessary to keep tail straight behind the dog. Plows take a lot of adjustment to get right, the working geometry will be slightly different than what you are seeing now. There's my :2cents:

Keep us posted on how it goes. I'd like to see a pic of a B series pulling a 2 bottom. I don't think I've seen that combo yet.

Standing behind the plow, looking forward, I would slide the plow to the left on the cross drawbar and also rotate the cross drawbar just a little while it is out of the ground and see if it pivots away from the tractor lift arm. In addition, if you get 3/4" to 1 inch clearance between the plow beam and the lift arm, set your tractors sway chains to never let it go any further to the right in the plow down position.

In addition, insert a spacer with 7/8 ID and about 1 1/8 OD, between the tractors right lift arm ball and the plow's right hitch pin.This will keep the plow from sliding back to the right.

Yesterday had our first sub-80's weather so got back to the Ford 101 in the afternoon.

Plow had sunk into my sandy-loam soil over the summer. Struggled to get it mounted on the three point hitch, but did.

I moved the plow over on the cross bar. I also had to change top "hole" from center to right on Landing Lever adjustment plate to increase Landing Lever range. To my surprise, nuts, bolts, washers were removed with only "some" effort. Covered same with Anti-Seize Compound before replacing.

A significant increase in clearance between plow First Beam and tractor Lifting Rod. However, now I have issues with Landing Lever interfering with ammo box I have mounted on tractor rear sheet metal to hold logging chains.

Put the left tractor wheels up on 7" blocks, made leveling adjustment, then did some test plowing. Worked OK, the inner share is doing most of the turning, outer share is barely turning. I think just adjusting the Landing Lever may get me close.....after dismounting the ammo box. Had to plow in HST/MED with 1/3 extra throttle. The plow went deep.

My default Top Link is a Hydraulink. Hydraulink top link in-and-out pulsation is not helpful with the plow. I will remove the Hydraulink and replace it the the Kubota Factory Top Link.

Back to my "test" field today, after unbolting ammo box.

Simple Kubota screw-in-screw-out Top Link eliminated plow porpoising.

Soon discovered that B3300SU front wheels being slightly inside rear wheels was going to make running down furrow with rear wheels slightly complicated.

Adjusted Lifting Rod to level plow, left-to-right by eye. (Next round I will have a 6" Torpedo Level with me.)

Felt a little insecure with tractor tilted over to the right, because of right-rear tire being in the previous furrow....but got used to it. Tractor can't go over, the plow is there.

Plowed a little more and noticed plow was now tipped left. Lowered plow on the right with the Lifting Rod.

Experimented with turning the Top Link in-and-out, changing nose angle attack of plow to achieve level plow beam.

Experimented with Landing Lever adjustments and all of a sudden started to plow really well. Got to end of the row, raised the plow, and the Landing Lever mangled the sheet metal shelf above the three point, that carries the two tail-lights and the cup holder. Quite exciting. Boy, that Land Lever is one strong piece of steel! Shelf totally ruined. Not repairable. Lights and cup holder OK.

Have a mite of experience now, noticed the right/outer share not turning the soil as completely as the inner share, which is turning soil beautifully.

B3300SU does not have Draft Control. B-series famous/infamous 1/4-inching adjustment was helpful in making fine up/down adjustments to the Lower Links/plow. Next time out I will adjust 1/4-inching for smaller increments of up/down adjustment by moving the 'keeper' lower in the quadrant.

Tried going a little faster, still in HST/MED + 4-WD.

Fooled around a little more with the Landing Lever inconclusively. Pinched one thumb between mangled shelf and Landing Lever Lock Handle, sure glad I was wearing heavy leather gloves. Decided enough for today. Fun, great progress, but need to read about plow adjustment some more.

Returned home. Reversed adjustment I made yesterday to Landing Lever adjustment plate from forward, past center, to rear position. Landing Lever will not hit mangled shelf now, while still giving me enough adjustment, I think.

With the plow down there is plenty of clearance between the plow First Beam and the 3-Pt (right) Lifting Rod; so original difficulty of mounting the plow has been resolved.

Next time out, will try loosening the sway stabilizers, which I had set with minimum slack, biased a little to the left, to keep plow First Beam away from 3-Pt. Lifting Rod.

The anti-rust black paint on the plow shares is 1/3 worn off. I am not going to take it off, I will let the sand scour it.

Several days of perfect weather in the forecast.

Today made only fine operating adjustments to Ford 101 2-14 plow. Top Link and Lifting Rod adjustmented in 1/2 turn increments. Loosened the sway stabilizers. Got the plow working very nice. Nice even furrow width, fair furrow walls, good over-turn on Bahia pasture grass with both bottoms. My furrows are not very straight, because I kept looking over my shoulder at the sod being turned, but "straight" will come with time, I am sure.

It would be nice to have Draft Control on the tractor, when using this plow. However, in my friable, rock-free soil, the B-Series 1/4-inching feature works pretty well. I adjusted plow depth by bumping the lever against the 1/4-inching stop, to raise the plow, when engine noise indicated draft forces were increasing rapidly. This is the function Draft Control would handle automatically. When I buy my next tractor, a Kubota L3560, I will include optional Draft Control on the order.

My camera has decided to take pictures with orange being the only color, everything else in black and white. THIS IN NOT INTENTIONAL. Must have something to do with Halloween.
