Tractor
Kubota B7800 - wLA402 and 72" MMM
A tip to remember: Letting the air out of the rear tires makes the tractor 5" shorter. Pulling the valve stem cores makes the air down go quicker.

After a lovely afternoon/evening of digging it was dark and I was tired, hungry, and ready to knockoff for the day. I had the ROPS up and wasn't paying any attention. Since I was digging I had the B7800 in Lo whereas usually it's in Med. Lo has plenty of torque :) My ROPS is about 4" to tall and I somehow managed to wedge it under the header for the 7' garage door on the Shop. I tried raising the front end by dropping the loader thinking I could pivot the ROPs out of the way but that didn't work as it was wedged really good. I will say I'm impressed with the build quality of the B7800 and the header in my shop, neither one budged :)

lol! Been there, done that a few times with my BX23. Letting the air out was the easiest/quickest way out of that "jamb". :D

<Insert drum shot here> How do you spell the sound of the drum at the punchline of a joke?

If you've got calcium chloride in the tires you'll likely have a mess.

A co-worker who just build a nice new barn for his TC33 made a mistake in measuring and his header is a few inches too low. He's forgot to fold his ROPS three times now after mowing and has done the same thing. I think the two or three "mowing sodas" he drinks has had a hand in the forgetting part.

There are two types of tractor owners who've hit the garage with the ROPS up: Those who've done it and will admit it, and those who've done it and won't admit it.

I've done it.

The second day I had my machine I tried to outrun a downpour and stuffed my garage. That is how I discovered that my garage had extreme termite damage!! I wish I only had to deflate the tires!
have fun , Dave

Welcome to the club, the exclusivity of which continues to diminish. Been there. Done that. Did it.

It happens with backhoes too...

I got lucky, purchased a new Kioti 2 weeks ago and when I pulled it into the barn last week the ROPS scraped the rubber seal that hangs down from the header, but cleared the header by less than 1/2".

Haven't tried with the backhoe on yet.

My TC18 will clear with the turf tires on. With the R4s on it interferes by about 1/8 inch - it will go thru, but makes a racket. I've got the paint scratches to prove it:eek: . I've had to nail the trim piece back on the garage a couple times

Did it very early on... tore the **** out of the door sill pulling it out of there. An excuse to buy a table saw to make the proper repairs.

I also poked the Backhoe boom through the drywall ceiling of my garage one time shortly after I'd gotten it.

Really felt like a dumb**** so it's comforting to know I'm not alone..

My shop/tractor storage building is a 14x34 Arrow shed with the typical 7'door which we all know just doesn't work.I just left my ROPS down most of the time until I got a backhoe then things changed real soon. After two days and two collisions I looked it over and cut the top section of the ROPS down 2" and it works great. This wont work if you are tall but I'm only 5'11" so I can still fit under it while using the hoe without banging my gourd.

"I was driving along - minding my own business - then WHAM! Out of nowhere - my garage jumped ONTO my tractor! Luckily - I had the ROPS up - else I would've been crushed!"

Yeah - yeah. We ALL have done it.... ;)

Jibber: what additional tool(s) did you "have to buy to make the proper repairs" after the backhoe mishap? ;) (I think tractor owners could single-handedly keep the economy going if we were only permitted to buy the proper tools to fix all the small "whoopsies....")

You'd think the guys who write the building codes for garages would take a minute and research the average height of a tractor ROPS....
