This is a great forum, except I have grown addicted and must check in constantly! One thing I would really like to see, but I'm sure the technical aspects are prohibitive, is that I would be able to customize my Main Index so only the forums I am interested in show up. I don't need to see how many new msg are for JD or lawn and garden etc (no offense, just not my interest) A concise index of just the forums i'm interested would feed my new preoccupation and perhaps allow me to get back to the work that I should be doing all along.

We already have that feature, although it is kind of hidden.

You can set the main index to display only the categories you want. Each category has an assigned number.

Category 1: Forum News & Information (Read Only)
Category 2: 100+ HP Ag Tractors & Machinery
Category 3: Kubota Discussion
Category 4: New Holland/Ford Discussion
Category 5: John Deere Discussion
Category 6: Other Discussions

To display only the categories you want, just configure your URL with the categories. When you load the main index, the URL is http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/wwwthreads.pl?Cat= ... at the end of that (where you see <font color=blue>?Cat=</font color=blue>), enter your categories.

For Kubota and Other Discussions only, you would go to http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/wwwthreads.pl?Cat=3,6 ... as you see a comma separates the categories, so you can have any combination of categories that you want to display. For Kubota only, you would go to http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/wwwthreads.pl?Cat=3

When I first started visiting; like you, I thought I had no interest in the "other" forums. Then one day I read them and found many interesting and valuable discussions not in any way related to the name of the forum.

Before passing up the "John Deere Pricing" or any other forum, I recommend you check it out. I find it time well spent.

Can I customize within each forum i.e. I dont want grey market tractors visible within Other Discussions?

OK, here's my wish...

I read all the forums as there is often useful info even in the Kubota topics (<font color=green>hee hee</font color=green>). I try to check in a couple of times a day at work (sshhh, don't tell anyone) and I use the past 24 hour button to see the latest activity. If I'm gone for more than a day there's so much to wade through I go to the topics. Is there a way to only show the messages in a thread since my last login?

We're going to work on this. Basically, a way to check only new messages since your last login. I understand the need for this and want to get it added as soon as possible. Also some other features are on the way... we're working on a new e-mail notification system right now.
