Four wheelers tresspassing.

I have had the same problem with trespassers. No details now but I have cost them money with Lawyers and land surveys that were not needed, but they tried to prove it was their land and found out it wasn't. I wanted to at one time put out spiked boards to puncture their tires but have found that not retaliating was the best course of action as anything you do will be amplified far beyond their transgressions, especially in court where you will need clean hands.
I offer one suggestion that I thought might help. Make a spiked board and tack it to a tree or top of a fence post, in full view. :shocked: The thought that they could find more on your property might make them want to go elsewhere. :laughing: Don't put any on the ground as booby trapping your land is against the law and for sure you will forget where you put them. :2cents:

This is actually a good idea. With a sign saying "Warning, multiple tire deflators hidden on this property, proceed at your own risk"

Talked to the officer that went to the house the other day and he felt they did not care about my rights so the pictures have been given to the EPO and they said to call them next time they are in our woods. The closest EPO(game warden) lives just 4 miles away and said he will be here minutes after the call.

The only thing with this is they are going to lose the quad and $500.00 but at this point it is their decision not mine so be it.

Well they should have lost the quad a long time ago except for all the dilly-dally-ing, tip toeing and pussey footing around the real problem. And for Heaven's sake, get some better logs.

I use coils of barbed wire along the edge of my property and two strands along the top of each wooden fence post. It keeps everyone out, me in, and my fences in good shape. Farm auctions, estate and garage sales supply all the needed wire. Looks like its been there forever. Ever seen a truck whose rear axle and prop shaft have 300 feet of barbed wire stored underneath? Its a beautiful thing. My local DNR guy suggested it 10 years ago to keep out the coyotes, lions, tigers and bears, oh my. Standard farm practice Your Honor. When you string it, paint the unrolled coil with a red paint stripe from a rattle can. When it's unrolled, the red will appear every few feet for the benefit of the blind.

I agree with calling the game warden, losing the 4 wheelers is the only thing they will understand. If after they get them taken and they continue to give you problems. You need a contact a lawyer and file a lawsuit against them. Just letter from a law firm can do wonders when they are told that their home could be taken to pay for a judgement against them. Here is WV the law is very clear about trespassers. Here is a link to paper written by a sitting judge about posting of land and your liability. It is specific to WV but should be similar to your laws there.
