Has anybody used a Fresno Rotary Scraper? How does it work? A feller has a very old one for sale in my area for $50.00. He drags it off the drawbar, using the drawbar to control cutting depth. It is supposed to be 1/3 cubic yard. Just wondering how this might work cleaning out my tank if and when it goes dry.

Very slowly, but it can be done. Those things were originally designed to be pulled by a team of horses with the depth of cut controlled by the man on the handle behind it. I can imagine how it could be modified to be used on the 3-point hitch of a tractor. We had a similar scoop when I was a kid, but the only way we used it was with 2 people; one to drive and one to control that scoop.

Like Bird said, it will, but very slowly.

We have an old one that actually dates back to the oil-boom days when they were used around here for digging pits, etc and it does still work. Hey, behind a team of horses it sure beat a shovel when a hole need to be dug.

I suppose if you've got time and are looking for some real seat time it will work just fine for you.
