It's possible. I haven't seen anything with specific numbers of tornadoes, but along the Texas/Mexico border (about 460 miles south of here) there were 10 people killed and a large number injured according to the newspaper. There was wind damage (from tornado or straight line; not sure which) in this area, but I haven't heard of anyone injured.

Bird,

I heard on the news this morning that Lake Lewisvile picked up a little over a foot of water from all that rain. Now, it's only 2.5 feet low.

Glad you made it through all that yesterday alright!! Got real interesting, real quickly!! We had periods of very heavy rain out here, but no hail and no tornadoes We lucked out!

I called the wife and I could hear the warning horns over the phone. she said a bunch of peaple were standing out in the street looking at the sky? what is it about when that horn blows that they all run outside?? I gota move. jb

People are curious and we really don't believe most of the "alerts" I'm afraid. And I'm as guilty of that as anyone. My city (Corinth) has their "Code Red - Emergency Communications Network" for which you can sign up and then you'll get a telephoned, recorded message for "emergency situations and/or critical community alerts. Examples include: evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports." So I signed up for it quite some time ago, and yesterday my grandson and I were shooting pool when my wife came in to tell us she'd just gotten the message to take cover on both the home and cell phones. We told her to go ahead and we went on shooting pool.

Amon Carter looked full to the top last week, I've never seen it that high.

But compared to Lake Lewisville, that's kinda like a thimble-full next to a bathtub isn't it?;) :D

Well, I know who Amon Carter was, but I didn't even know there was a body of water with that name.

Eddie, our rain guage only holds 5 inches and it quickly overflowed. I don't know how much we got but Aubrey about 17 miles away got 10 inches.

My tank is finally full, but the new house is fine. It will be a while before they can pour the driveway however.

It's between Sunset and Bowie (just to the west). It's also one of the best kept bass fishin' secret lakes in N. Texas. RedRocker has a beautiful hilltop place on it's north shore and I couldn't help myself. I had to give him a hard time.:p :D

Yep, it's kinda small, but it's a nice little lake. Last time I was on it I had to tow a big pickle fork inboard drag boat to the ramp with my 14' 20 hp tiller stear aluminum boat. LOL

My part of Central Texas received only .2". The sky looked like we were really in for it, but it didn't happen. I'm not complaining.

We're supposed to be getting some of that rain here in NC today. It clouded up about lunch time and has looked like it wants to rain all afternoon. Maybe it will come this evening. We sure do need a good soaker to get the Spring plants kicked off.

In spite of the flooding appearance, this morning (36 hours later) I mowed the yard. Yeah, it was actually probably too wet to mow, but not a problem. When the rain quits, it soaks in and/or runs off fast.

I've never heard the term Frog Stranglin' Gully Washer.

We used to say "That's a real toad choker"

Should have planted rice in the yard this year. We've had another real downpour the last 15 or 20 minutes or so, with hail for about 10 minutes. I think (hope?) all the hail was too small to do any damage. And we've just had some of the brightest lightning and loudest thunder we've had in awhile. Naturally, we lost our satellite TV reception, but at least so far haven't lost electric power or telephone.

Oh no, not another Frog Stranglin' Gully Washer. :D Sounds like your going to need a boat by the end of the year.

Yeah, and I just sold my boat last week. It was a relatively small storm cell this time, though, and has already passed through and gone and I only got 1.05" of rain in the gauge this time. The trouble is that the ground is so saturated that no more can hardly soak in.

See, it's all your fault. You sold your boat. Had you kept it you would probably ended up in a drought by the end of the year. :)
