It's Obama's Government Motors. What do you expect? I expect incompetence, extortion, threats, bullying and arrogance.

Didn't take long.

I hope you know this could have occurred at any brand and has no relevance to the bail out.

Please keep politics out of this blog. We get enough of that every where else.
On a different note, If my car broke down in front of that dealer I would make it a point to take it somewhere else.

What? Where did that come from?

Never mind, I'm going home.

Seems GM is going to take care of things. Go after the dealers who are 90% in your camp according to polls taken of dealers during the auto bailout. This is a dealer issue.

I have not read full thread... to infuriated:mad::mad:
I recently retired of thirty years from the Tech Center and know some people that would like talk with that gentelman. I do not know if he was drunk with the ahhs and ohhs but that deserves a severe reprimand on their service center and future training at the Tech Center dealer training center. Overall customer satisfaction survey ratings that they have you fill out are taken very serious.

Probably his dad's dealership. A guy who started his own shop wouldn't be that dumb.

I recently pruchased a truck at dealer that tried to switch up the deal in the 11th hour. It all worked out, but I will never go back for anything. I made sure that the GM survey clearly detailed the facts of the deal.

That said, I had a little belt squeak taken care of at a dealer further away. They were kind, easy to work with and provided great service. Due to the great service, I bought $250 worth of accessories that I wanted.

I own 3 GM trucks, and take care of a few more than that. My business wouldn't be like a major commercial client, but its nothing to throw away either.

For what its worth, any GM dealer must service your vehicle under warranty, and they will gladly. Because they want you in for maintenance services and out-of-warranty work later on. Heck - some even do state inspections. The more you step foot in the dealer's door, the more likely you will buy something.

I don't know what this moron (salesman) was thinking. I've never worked in sales and suspect that if you have been working with a potential customer who buys from the competition its frustrating. But the guy should understand that the customer probably hasn't purchased the last vehicle in his/her lifetime.

I had a John Deere dealer "hint" that service might be a little "slower" if I purchased from another dealer but came to his senses and offered to service the tractor just as if he had sold it. Of course, I ended up buying countless other items, attachments, filters, oil, not to mention business in his service shop to the tune of $90.00 per hour. I also purchased another tractor from him.

This moron (car salesman) has lost more than just one sale. Forget for a moment about the cell phone call being posted on youtube, this customer won't be back and I'm sure he and his wife have told every person they met about their experience.

Smart sales people understand that you don't win deal every but you live to fight another day. If this moron understood basic human behavior he would realize that while he is getting his car serviced at the dealership, even though he didn't purchase it there, he will wander though the showroom, sales lot and see all of the new goodies that this dealer has to offer. If he has a positive experience he will be back for the next purchase and he/she will tell their friends as well.
