Funny thing is that if you drive it backwards (which would give you the best view), the mower is on the wrong side, (correct for England and Bermuda but not around here).

With the ditch bank mower you would want to drive it like a conventional tractor. It helps to keep the tractor in line and you looking ahead instead of always looking down into the ditch. That auction also has a nice brush chopper for the cab side that you can drive cab first with.

The gas company is using that setup around here to clear the gas lines. Has a big root rake on the cab end and the 10' brush chopper on the engine end.

Forage harvesters are in the $150k+ category and are a different beast. Claas, Krone and a few aftermarket companies make tri gang mowers for their forage harvesters to give you a self propelled mower and make your $150k machine more versatile. But Forage harvesters are designed to pick up forage and chop it up into tiny bits for feed where as the Bi-Directional mowers are designed for cutting hay to either be baled up or to be chopped up by a forage harvester.
