I agree as well. Sometimes I am a little dyslexic. Lol

However, I have never seen a dipstick that you were not supposed to read with it all the way in. Might exist somewhere I guess.
Honda vertical shaft 18 HP V twin....in the owner's manual.

Kawasaki is the only engine I have that specifically states that you check by just resting the cap with the dipstick on top after unscrewing and wiping.

My Honda pressure washer manual says not to screw in dipstick to check oil level.

I just think I'll keep the oil level in the middle of the dipstick. If I screw the dipstick in to read it, it will read "Full". If I read it from the unscrewed position, it will read "Low" but I can still see it on the stick.

The Kawasaki engine on my Dixie Chopper mower says read with it not screwed in.
