Hey all
I have a chance to get this for next to nothing, 150.00. A co-workers dad had this on his Kubota, which he no longer has. He just wants to get rid of it. It has all three cylinders, all the hoses and hardware, is 61" wide, and not in too bad of shape.
Does anyone know what kind of blade this is,and what are all the square holes for?
I'm thinking of buying it,and trying to adapt it to my 2520?
Sorry for the crappy photo, he took it with his phone.:(

Looks like well made blade, seems like far price.
Holes..seen them on older plows, and some have added metal to heighten plow.

If you have a welder and can cut metal, you'll have a great project!

Looks like a solid blade. With all the holes on the perimeter, you could add extensions and make it wider. That is a very good price, I wish it was in the Midwest and you did not want it! :D

Looks exactly like a blade I bought new in 1979 for a Kubota L245DT tractor. It was very heavy made and was built in Wisconsin or Michigan but can't remember the manufacturer. It worked great for plowing snow and light road grading.
The square holes on top are for adding a height extension (approx 4 or 5 inches) which mine had. I've had 3 or 4 snow plows since then but none as heavily built as that one.
I'd say it's a great deal for $150 but you will have to fabricate mounting brackets for your tractor.

Looks like a HD beast! :D And a very good price. I see angle cylinders --- but no lift?

Another thing to consider is; how compatible will the mount locations (fabricated) be with your existing FEL mounts?

A long-time poster here on TBN (dirtworksequip) with a 3520 cab tractor and 300CX FEL had dual mounts for both his loader and a front mounted JD blade - wanna think it was a 380 (or 390) - but would have to do a search.

Nevertheless, he did a slick job of placing both sets of QA mounts for the FEL and the blade sandwiched together at the mid-mount location for ease of connecting to the hyd couplers and disconnecting.

With the latest blast of winter fun... having a blade would sure be a great attachment in the shed!!!

I'd be VERY tempted to turn that into a loader-mounted plow.

I bought a 6 1/2' plow, Western blade with a Kubota subframe mount for a hundred. The plow is like new. I adapted it to my 4110 and it works rather well. i have since built a loader and don't use the plow. I may readapt it to the 94 Jeep Wrangler I'm working on. I was surprised the 4110 handled it very well and the hydroturn made it very efficient.

Looks like a snow plow to me. With the springs to give some release if you hit something hard and the shoes at the corners.

Nice score.

looks like a simular blade that i picked up a while ago. I converted mine to a 3pt hookup as my tractor is revesable. Great deal at 150. the holes are for rubber to make it safe or mine had metal ware blades on it

Just to update this.
A couple better pictures.
There were a couple vertical bars added to try to mount it to a different tractor.
I'll have to come up with something for tying it into the frame in the rear of the tractor
I'll have to get a cylinder for lifting.
There are alot of like "scratch" marks on one of the cylinders. They aren't pits so hopefully it can be dealt with.
Can you use steel wool to clean them up?
I think the mod is going to be a little more involved than first thought. If I try to do something like a 380 mod, I'm thinking the solid "A" will remain, but after that, the separate bars might have to go,and I'm going to need a kind member to offer his time to give me some critical dimensions.
The other course would be to just try to make something like the Kubota mount shown in the pic.

Comments or suggestions please

Greg

I found a pic of what it looks like mounted

One of our customers has this exact snowplow mounted to a Kubota L185 with a Curtis cab. It seems that theirs has a tubular mount that extends nearly the length of the belly of the tractor. I do remember that the trip mechanism wouldnt work like it should.
