- Massey Ferguson 231S
My dad has a 2004 Massey Ferguson 231S and a 5 foot Modern bush hog of the same year. He's lived on his property since the 80s and always bush hogged his pastures with no major issues. It's just overgrown hayfields with some small trees and scrub. He's gotten a few seasons behind on his mowing this time around, but nothing worse than he's mowed before.
On his current cutting he's snapping bush hog blades off about an inch below the bolt hole. Now on this third set of blades purchased locally on this cutting alone and the dealers / Modern are not very helpful so far in checking for potential defects or offering replacements. Current tractor and bush hog are still solid. No shear pins broken. Current blades are number 401-0056S. They're all that's available locally (Southeast Texas). Used these since the tractor and bush hog were new with no issues like this.
Does anyone know of some heavier duty alternative blades that they can recommend and will fit?
