You will have to describe your tractor as a "Most Grand" L3240.

Your creativity is way beyond mine.

Let me humbly grovel in your (vacuumed) dust...........

Thanks James, you summed that up pretty good:thumbsup: Tonight I'll post the remote control I'm working on, it's to control the tractor from my living room and watch what I'm doing on the TV,
Now I'm lying:D

Nice work, Waxman! Especially like the cool gauge setup.

Thanks napalen

Very cool mods! Since I don't have a cab I'll skip the vac but I love the gauge mount, you did a very good job. Any reason you didn't install an exhaust temperature gauge?
Thank you wmonroe, I guess trans temp seemed more important.

Re: Front Bucket Cam, Gauges and Central Vacuum system installed on my Grand L 3240

What are you measuring on the gauges?
If I understand the question I guess I'm measuring temp, pressure and volts, after a while I will be able to tell whats normal and whats not. I know every time I start the tractor cold the oil pressure is 55 and when I rev it up it's 69, Volts idling ?? revved up ?? etc. Not enough time yet to remember all the numbers. But you will know if somethings off after time.

Outstanding!
I really like those gauges.
The Agcam is really nice, too.
First class craftsmanship - everything looks well thought out and executed.
That's the sign of real understanding of what you have, what you want and how it will get used.
Hats off to you, sir.

It will be interesting to see what temp the tranny runs at.

No it won't, not yet anyway, because I really didn't want to use a filter adaptor yet, maybe I'll do it when I do my 50hr. I just put the sender in a threaded 12 mm dead hole on the side of the transmission I made a bushing to fit the 12 mm to 1/8 pipe thread.

Same with the oil temp there was a threaded 10mm x1.5 dead hole about 1 inch deep on the bottom of the oil pan I ran a die over the sending unit and placed it in that hole. Since it was a dead hole I didn't have to worry about any leaks.
The thin aluminum oil pan will probably give somewhat of a accurate reading once hot. But the large cast iron transmission will not accurately tell the temp of the oil IMO. It would have been easier to do the exhaust temp now after thinking about it. I would much prefer the sensors in the oils. Has anyone ever used one of these? I was thinking getting one for the oil filter and transmission filter but I don't know the thread sizes , I figured I would worry about it at 50hrs. I was also thinking of using an coupler and taping into a fitting with a 1/8 pipe tap.

Thank you Baby Grand that was nice of you to say.

I don't want to appear negative and I love the camera but I doubt it would work in my environment. I tend to push in a lot of brush and lots of time, just stack it on the lift arms behind the FEL. As you said it can quickly be removed. Gauges are very nicely done also but of all the tractors I have used, I have never had any info other than oil pressure, water temp, fuel and tach and they all seemed to work as they should and last thousands of hours.
Customization is all about what the guy doing the work wants and you certainly did a nice job. Congratulations

Now THOSE are the absolute coolest things I have seen on a tractor in...like...forever! Great job!
