Bevis what's the working load limit on those? And how strong is the backing?

Kenny, just installed some of your grab/clevis combo's last night. Nice product!

I have a gc 1710. There was some plugs on the front end loader I replaces with some hooks ( see photos). What has everyone put there? I put some removal eye hooks that are often used for trailers I got a rural king. They unscrew when not in use. Anyone see a problem with these? I have yet to use them.

I would be worried that the stress point is up away from the bucket and it is not welded to the bucket in a long weld but it is hooked in a short place and gives the thing LEVERAGE. It will bend your bucket a lot faster than a weld on hook. Ed

Sorry Ed, had to do it :)

Could some of you that have hooks attached to your buckets give me ideas on what you do with them.

And if its jobs that are dragging related . . Why the fel and not thev3pt. ?

Thanks.

One of my numerous uses includes using a chain with the welded on hooks to keep a 55 gallon drum of rainwater on the bucket while headed out to water plants.

I use the hooks with chain to drag trees out of spaces where it would be difficult to get the tractor back. Also because the FEL is much further out than the drawbar at the rear it puts you further out of the limbs and such. You can also lift up with the FEL to hold a log off the ground for bucking it into more manageable pieces. I only use the drawbar to pull super heavy stuff long distances.
My most frequent use is to lift my lawnmower for service of blades and cleaning under the deck. Putting a safety block on the lift cylinder would be the best practice but I don't do it. Just call me stupid and lazy.

Ditto.. the FEL has lifting (and positioning) capability that the 3PH doesn't have, plus it's just plain more convenient --it's in front of you!-- than the 3PH, IMHO.

Providing the max capacity of the FEL --and its arms-- isn't breached, a chain on one of the various FEL hooks can become very useful for moving things-- either raising, lifting & dragging, positioning, or just plain pulling. And, as mentioned, chains can be used on the FEL to secure things that might otherwise fall out/off.

today I used it to hold my generator in the bucket so I could raise it up to a good height to work on.

Tomorrow it will be to lift my CUB so I can get at the blades to sharpen them.

Last week I used it to run a chain to my 'tongs' to lift some logs.

Previous week I used them (2 of them) to hold a large stump in the bucket I dug up.

In a week of so I'll be moving some granite slabs that I use for my back steps.

I have used it to lift and lower a couple of engines in and out of cars and a boat.

I've used them to hold up logs to be able to cut them off of the ground.

I've put clamp on forks on my loader and used the hooks to hold chains to hold the load on the forks.

I pick up my rear blade and move it around the barn using a chain on the bucket hook.

I've picked up tractor tires by hooking a chain on the bucket and thru the hole in the wheel.

A few days ago I chained a stove in the bucket so I could move it over to the dumpster to destroy it.

there's more, I'm sure.

I have 3 of Ken's bolt ons on my fel bucket and one on each of my bh buckets.

If you can't think of a reason for a hook on the bucket, you either have no imagination or don't need a bucket.

I have three grab hooks with backing plates on my bucket, the center hook has a clevis mount underneath used with a shackle. I got the hooks from Kenny D a couple of years ago, VERY well made and easy to install.
