Just purchased a JD 2040
It has a front end loader on it and I would like to convert it to skid steer compatible:

There are two pins on each side to remove the bucket.
At first i was intending on grinding and welding a receiving plate on the tractor and the other part on the tractor, but looking at this, I wonder if I could just get a plate that would pin on in place of the bucket?

I would love any knowledge on this. I'm not sure of the brand. the previous owner guessed it was an Allied or a Woods or maybe an older Deere 48.
I don't know much about this but would love to.

Nope

Cut and weld. You'll need the loader side with the levers and the bucket side.

I have one from Bell Industries. Great quality product. Mine is Global to SS but I think they make JDQA to SS as well. I have been well pleased with mine.
