I am rebuilding a Dearborn FEL with a trip bucket on an 8N. I have built a new bucket and added double acting cylinders to tilt back and dump the bucket. I replaced the single acting boom cylinders with double acting cylinders and installed a new joystick valve. The pump is the same front mounted pump that came with the loader. I am ready to plumb the whole thing and I'm not sure what size hydraulic lines to use from the high pressure output of the pump to the valve, from the valve to the 2" cylinders, and the return from the valve to the reservoir. My thoughts right now are 3/8 for the high pressure and 3/4 for the return. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

The key constraint is pump output which is about 2.9gpm(?) Those hose sizes should be fine.

Thanks Brad

I'm right to the point of starting the plumbing so I'll go ahead and use those hose sizes.

Really need to know the pump output to give a intelligent answer...But if Brad is correct at 2.9GPM, then you can use 3/8" for the pressure and 1/2" for the return. 1/4" from the valve to the cylinders would be OK also.
