In the past I would run the tractor at 2000 rpm ( PTO driven) to get the snowblower really throwing snow.

This is the tach study I did using the hydraulic motor

I have a 16 tooth on hyd motor and 15 tooth on ( snowblower) gearbox..notice the 2000 rpm .... right on the money!

That is an awesome thing that you did. I really appreciate the pictures of the steps that you have shown. Did you just complete it or have you tried blowing with it? I would love to try this myself, plus awesome idea for a hydraulic reservoir.

If I had 25% of your talent, I would attempt it. IMO the best snow set up is SSQA blower and a rear blade...at least for my needs where I live in northern MI. I doubt that would be possible with your design as the oil reservoir would need to be reloacated/changed.

I had to go with a compromise. SSQA mounted blade and a pull blower.

Thanks...I just completed it the build. I use the Tractors’ onboard hydraulics for the two way chute operation. I used Discount Hydraulic Hose ( online) for most of my hoses.

suggestion ...order all your hoses at one time from them...makes shipping very cheap. I paid way to much ( almost 4X) for my first two hoses at a local Hydraulic service store ( learn as you go).

Making my hydraulic tank saved a tons...($200.00 , fittings included) plus I like the rounded look... I saw some square tanks listed Online at $4000.00!

I ran the unit for over an hour at 2000rpms ( which is where I usually run it for real heavy snow) on a 65 degree day...temp went up to just over 100 degrees.....at that’s with only 15 Gallons of oil in the 20 gallon tank ( just wanted to see what it would do with 15 gallons).... I was very pleased!
