Nothing beats Vermont in the Fall, but I think if we still had snow on the ground, I'd have to close my eyes and request my wife to hide the knives and guns...
Even living in Northern PA, winter lasts about 2 months too long!
I'll let you know next year. I'm done with it for this season. How do y'all remove snow? Plow truck, snowblower, 3-point back blade, etc.
Our primary snow mover is the 1989 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a 6'6" Western snowplow. It does a real good job with a front diff lock, 5 speed with the 4.0L. It's nice to have a heated cab. Traction becomes an issue in wet, sloppy spring snows though. View attachment 4419913
We moved to the UP years ago for consistent snow and mild temps year-aroubnd..
Likewise here in northern N.H.Meanwhile I and most of my friends here in Vermont are happy that we finally got a REAL winter again! It's been a while
This house has only a partial basement (cellar, really...dirt floor, stone foundation), the rest being crawlspace. Had the crawlspace sprayfoamed last year, used probably 20% less firewood than the year before despite it being a much colder winter. Floors definitely less cold.I'm am gladly anticipating spring and a bit of warmth, especially being able to put the boiler in summer mode and save some oil.
