front hitch on cut

/ front hitch on cut #41
Okay, I'll bite. Was the steering on the lawn tractors reworked to operate hydraulic rams and articulate the towing dolly for steering? None of the pictures are big enough to actually see the mechanism, but since the steering wheels were left in place, I can only assume they were not just to hold onto.

......

You sit on the hood with the steering wheel between your legs. The unit is articulated and steers with the steering wheel operating rams(6 years on that bad boy is what sold me on articulated machines like my Power Trac:) ). You steer with one hand and control forward/reverse with a lever in your other hand. Your heel rests on a brake. If you step on it, the direction lever returns to neutral. Very cool machines. It just scoops up the nose wheel and lifts it a couple inches off the ground. We had several attachments that would allow us to move single nose wheel planes, dual nose wheel planes like Mitsubishi's, and tail draggers like Beech 18's by connecting to the main gears, not the tail wheel. That was about as big as we went. As I mentioned, there was also a ball hitch attachment for automotive type trailers. The boss had lots of toys!
