While working with the front loader grapple a hydraulic fluid pipe burst that controls lifting the bucket up. I’m going to contact my dealer Monday but was wondering what this specific piece is called so I can communicate to them what’s wrong. Also curious if this was my fault by trying to get a stubborn root out of the ground. Was I working it too hard? It’s the top (red) line that’s busted.

Thanks

Edit :let me know if the second photo is loading or not.

Wow! You must have been putting some pressure on the system. The tractor is not designed to do dozer work. I'm surprised the metal line busted and not one the hoses. If the dealer doesn't cover it under warranty, it's and easy fix. Get them to order the new line and replace it yourself to save the labor charge.
The line busted is called "Pipe Boom Up Line".

Unless you really rammed it, which, it sounds like you did, the relief should have taken the shock.

2nd photo loaded, no problem other than the blown hard line. I would not tell the dealer the "whole" story... you were working with the FEL when the possible "defective" metal line opened up!!!

Yea, tractors are not bulldozers and FEL are for scoping up loose loads and not for heavy digging!

I had it grabbed on a small 6” stump trying to pull it out.

Thanks. I was trying to use that site you got the diagram from but it wasn’t loading on my phone.

IMO, that line was defective. Even if you were trying to dig out a small'ish stump, it should not have burst as the hydraulics should have went into relief/bypass. While talking to them about replacement, have them look at the relief pressure setting as well.

The relief valve only works if you're moving the joystick on any of the functions and only for that function. If you happen to ram into a pile with all the spools in Neutral, there is no relief valve to protect anything.

Essentially, it won't protect the loader/tractor from external forces being applied. Something gave, in this case the hard line, otherwise something a lot more expensive could have broke.

These loaders valve don't have work port relief valves either, which would prevent this.

Wild guess here just looking from the pictures but that looks like 12mm tubing with 1 mm wall thickness. Typically has a working pressure of around 2500 PSI and burst pressure of around 9500 PSI, so imagine the forces involved to burst a line like this.
