How much weight can you add to the front end of a typical CUT tractor using the suitcase weighs? Enough to equal the weight of an FEL?

On my 790, one can ad 6 (42 lb) weights. This comes to a bit over 250 lbs, which is far less then the 419 loader weighs.

However, it's more a matter of weight distribution rather then just bulk weight. The point is to keep the front end down for steering control, not totally counter balancing a 600+ lb rotary cutter.

I've no idea if this is a typical weight (250#), but I expect most CUT's will use between 200 and 300 lbs of front weights.

I agree.. you are not going for 1to1 offset of weight.. just counterballance.

For instance.. 800# of suitcase weights offsets my 2000+# rear mower just fine.

The large frame JD's can use up to six 70lb weights (420lb total) stock, or up to 12 (840lbs) with an extension bracket. I would think that is pretty typical of other larger CUTs, possibly the class IV New Hollands might even take more.

It would be nice to have access to a scale to see how the front weights compare to the loader in overall front-to-rear balance.
