Chris, the Woods 65" is $820 and the 72" is $920 plus tax. I've called all the local dealers even none JD dealers and that's the best price I should of found.

Those are very good prices compared to my area in Taxachusetts. My 60" GB60 cost more than what you were quoted for the 65"'er :(. Jay

Jay, I'm not too far from you and the Mass dealers were around $300 to $400 higher than mine. I have an NH dealer who sells landpride and he was even higher. I still think that that's alot for a mass produced item. I can see around 400-500 hundred but 8 to 1k seems like alot. It won't keep me from buying it but there should be a quality reasonably price alternative to these brands. If there were they'd clean up.

My gawd those are high prices. In central Michigan I've been quoted $900 for a 72" Woods medium duty box (I assume your prices are for light duty) and $1200 for an 84" Woods medium duty box. I was also quoted $1200 for an 84" Frontier medium duty box made by Worksaver, but for the same money I'd choose the Woods. If you want to take a road trip I'll tell you which dealers to call in my area.

Matt , I dont see why the dealer where you bought your tractor could not match the 820$ price on a frontier. I paid less than that. its a decent price but not a steal. i know when i was looking. my dealer sales both , and there was not 100$ difference in eather one. i went with frontier. cause i knew there would be no IMatch issues. build quality was exactly the same..;)

Chris, my dealer doesn't carry the Frontier stuff. They feel it's too much $$$ and the tell me the Woods is a better product. I called several dealers who carried both and all were a few hundred more on the Frontier. Z you for get that living in NE is a luxury and we should all pay dearly for the privilage. As most of the NE TBNer's will attest everything is more expensive up here. I usually don't mind driving for a better deal but I can't justify it on this purchase.

if he dont carry frontier.....:D

Well as long as its IMatch compatible. i am sure it will work fine..;)

Well he sells Frontier but they feel the Woods is a better product. Woods has a long sales history to back them up. It seems Frontier is made by whoever.

The GB60 is considered to be Woods' "Standard Duty" box blade. It is listed at weighing in at 510 pounds. I did a lot of telephone shopping for box blades that were heavy, had 3/8" side plates, easily changed scarifiers, and had captured lower links. I called and/or visited various dealers in western MA which included Land Pride, Bush Hog, Befco etc. and every dealer was in the 800+ $ range for 60" box blades :(. The GB60 was actually the cheapest. There is a TBN member (Timber) who lives in central MA who purchased a box blade made by "Sundown" I believe. Even though they are reportedly made "locally" and/or have a main shipping distribution center in Springfield, MA I could find no information about the company and/or its products :(. If my memory serves me correctly  "Timber" was very pleased with the cost, construction, and quality of the Sundown box blade. I did not feel like driving to central MA on a "wild goose chase" for an unknown product. I will say that when I see the prices of tractors and attachments listed by other posters across the country it reinforces my opinions about "supply and demand" economies . In hindsight I should have shopped the northern CT area . Jay

I picked up the Woods 65" box blade today. I can't believe how well made and heavy this unit is. My dealer had a 48" used frontier there. There's no question the Woods was the clear choice. I'll snap a few action picks if I get a chance. Thanks for all the replys.

Congrats on the purchase, any problem with it working with the I Match?

I also had to decide between the Frontier and the Woods BB last fall and once I got over the idea of an orange implement on my 3120 I went with a Woods GB72 and don't regret it.

And with my 300CX out front I never lack for traction even with the BB full of Slate Belt rocks and clay!

No problems with the Imatch. It fits 100% perfectly. The blade is friggin awesome. I got soooo much done last night with it. I'll try to get pics this weekend. No one home to take the pics while I'm working.

I'm looking at medium duty box blades now as well. Requirements are 60"
wide, clevis type hitch and 450 lb plus. The choices available locally so far are:

Frontier BB2060 465 lbs $650
Befco BBE-060 470 lbs $825
King Kutter H-BB-60 500 lbs $850

The Frontier is a solid looking piece, and that comes from someone that has pretzeled a 325 lb noname. I'll put in due dilligence for a couple more days but the green leads far and away right now.

I've used a Frontier BB on my 4600 for the last 4 years. I've done most everything with it one could imagine and it's never so much as whimpered. I'd stick with the Green. Good luck!

Pulled the trigger today. Price somehow changed from $650 to $700 (old faded one was gone) but still the best deal. I'll add 2 2" dia x 48" solid rods to the rear to make it bite a little better and be a more effective counterweight.
