Mornin everyone, -3F here... My throttle cable must have some water in it, and sticks until the engine warms it up. Any suggestions on getting it out? WD-40?

Thanks!
Mike

Hi proof alcohol or "Heat" from a can when tractor is warmed up....The alcohol will get rid of moister.

The key is to get in inside, and look for any low spots in the line where it may collect.

Move someplace warmer? Put the wife’s car outside and the tractor inside?

Antifreeze some times will work to loosen / unfreeze, frozen cables

Isn't that corrosive on steel?

I filled it with rubbing alcohol several days ago, and tomorrow I am going to pump it full of fine machine oil so at least it should bond to the cable and not allow the ice to grab it.....

We had a 2 day thaw, and now it is near the single digits again... IT WORKED! Cable nice and free!
