If you look at any reputable ballast chart, they all show between 75% and 90% fill rates.. that should be a sign....

Ran across a post regarding rv antifreeze actually freezing. Came across this explaination on a manufacturers site.

"I had some -50 RV Antifreeze stored in my garage and I noticed it was frozen. Is your product defective?

A. No. Propylene glycol antifreezes are designed to provide burst protection to temperatures of -50ï½° F or below. Ice crystals will start to form in -50 RV Antifreeze at temperatures around +10° F and will appear to be solid ice at around -10° F to -15° F. Propylene glycol based antifreezes continue to contract and will not expand until temperatures of -50° F are reached, thus providing burst protection for pipes. If you need a product that flows at the lower temperatures, a higher concentrated product such as Winter Ban -100 or our Ban Frost Marine Engine Antifreeze should be used."

Here's a WW concentrate that looks like a cost effective option. 15 gallons for $90 plus shipping, mixed 5 to 1 makes 90 gallons, protects to 14 F. Plenty good for my area.

also keep in mind that most antifreezes have a lower freeze protection when mixed with some water vs straight.

In all the years of being around big farm equipment I never heard of a problem with CaCl. My brother who is a tractor and harvester mechanic says problems usually arises with abuse. He currently works for a large farm in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. He has serviced harvester equipment in a three state area for a national Manufacturer. Older tractors especially can have a problem with unprotected stem damage mimmicking corrosion from internal leakage. Damaged rims can also be a cause.

Maybe so in your area, but both my 2120 and next neighbor's Kubota 2500 series get tube punctures from little locust saplings as we mow his back 20. You can't see them but the spines work through the rubber between ribs and chafe the tube. Tube leaks a little (keeps pressure pretty decent), salt gets between tube and rim, then expensive damage. New rims for mine are $1,100 each. I like the weight and it's placed right, and out of sight, but costly. Can't tell you how many times I've had the fronts off for tube patching, and pulled spines I could see out of the rears.

Tire punctures are a different story. Abuse is neglect in checking condition of equipment before loading, damage like driving over curbs while carrying heavy loads "guilty of this myself" operating with underinflated tires, etc.

Someone on here once mentioned they don't sharpen their rotary mower blades so they will shred the small stuff instead of cutting it.
I'm sure the people with rim rusting horror stories aren't making it up, but I have had punctures over the last seven years and removed my tires last year for replacement and didn't have any rust under the tubes, just some surface rust on the rim which I wire brushed and painted.

if you can keep the rim painted.. that's good pretection.. paint don't rust.. just hard to keep it all covered....

This spring I intend to remove the tires and repair the rims. Is there anything better than paint for the inside?
