Oil & Fuel Fuel additive

/ Fuel additive #22
My limited understanding is this: current diesel fuels have lower sulfur. As sulfur is not a lubricant in itself, it combines with "nickel" to form the basis for lubrication. This is why lower sulfur means lower lubrication. I thought the fuel manufacturers were adding their own lubricants for years even before ultra fuels.

I also run the walmart tcw3 or whatever it is 2cycle oil. 1oz per gallon in my 2002. Can't say whether or not it helps, certainly doesn't hurt. No harm in adding a little more lubricity to the fuel in my opinion.

I agree, adding some 2 stroke oil is going to add to the lubricity, it's something we did in Alaska in the winter, as we were burning straight #1 diesel in the super cold weather... A qt. of 2 stroke oil to 50 gallons of #1 diesel, that's the ratio we used.
