OK I was just curious, I have read some posts where people was only getting about a gallon of fuel per hour, I am at between .6 and .7 gallons per hour, is that about average?

Depends on what I am doing.

BX1500 mowing in high range 54" mowing deck in thick grass-
0.5 Gal.PH

L4400 mowing with 6 foot rotary cutter on the hills 1 Gal.PH

L4400 working the FEL and BB hard steady earth moving on a hill-1.4 al.PH

Depends on the work being accomplished.

I have a CT 230 and seem to be doing a little better than that. I'm getting about .4 gal an hour. That's just hauling and a little FEL work, as I have no PTO equipment.

My old 440 was about 1 gal and hr, time will tell what my 450 SST will do, im guess it will be the same or better.

For the first 200 hours of my new JD 3520 (FEL work, bushhogging, mowing, trimming hedges) I have used an average of 1 liter per hour (0.264 US gallon). That's only half of what I used with my previous Massey 35. Both are gear transmission machines.

Larry did you get the BX1500 repaired and back in service? I know you were having Trans. problems.

Yeah, thanks for asking ... info in orig Kryptonite thread. I kept the old trans which they think has a broken cradle bearing. When I get around to it Ill take it apart and find the problem and fix it so it wont happen again. If theres something so marginally adequate that transient spikes in relief valve response will break it its too weak in my book.

Kinda hard to compare ex B7100HST to L2800HST...less rpm's for working but much heavier..last check just little over gallon an hour, thats darn cheap anyway one figures it. :)
