Oil & Fuel fuel filter installation

I purchased fuel filters for my case 580 c backhoe (primary and secondary) but instead of the threaded air/water bleed screws that
i have on the old filters there is a 1" dia+/- plastic disc with two plastic ears and a plastic 1/16" to 1/8" dia. hollow nipple about 1/4' long.
It looks like the plastic ears are there to grasp to rotate the plastic disc, but I will not rotate and I am afraid I will break it if i apply too
much torque. My local case dealer was not much help on this.

The ears will be there to undo, but can be very tight.
On a separate issue/thread hijack, does your C have the switch on top of the loader joystick to disconnect the transmission?

Yes the ears are there to grab ahold of & turn.. I HATE those things.. THEY BREAK.. KEEP an extra one on hand..
