I have a mx5100 with 1700 hours and 10 years old. I change the fuel filter annually. It sits inside a clear plastic cup with a spring that pushes the filter up against an o ring on a pipe that feeds fuel to the engine. Small ring about an inch or so. I was going to replace this ring but it is a pain to get at. And maybe it doesn't matter anyway.
Does anybody replace these? I suspect many Kubota models have the same apparatus.

I have the same on my L 3540 when I went to the dealer to buy a couple fuel filters. They asked me if I wanted the big O-ring for the filter seat and the small O-ring for that pipe you’re talking about. I got both didn’t use both didn’t need to. I guess it’s better to have in case you lose them right

I never replaced that o ring on my previous L3410, probably not the larger one either. They always looked good and fit well.

Thanks for the replies. Looks good so I will leave it alone.

The last filter I bought came with the spring and O-rings. I'm pretty sure it was an aftermarket but can't recall the name. Came off Amazon. I put them in the box for the next change. I have a cabinet with all my machine filters. It's good to have spares on hand and each is marked for the machine.

I use Stanadyne Performance Formula additive - it puts any water in the fuel into suspension in microscopic form being consumed by combustion. If the fuel is clean I never have to touch the fuel filter to remove water in the bowl. My oldest tractor has run like this for 26 years and nearly 2,000 hours. I may have changed that filter cartridge once for S's & G's. It doesn't hurt the fuel system or engine.

Use to change the NH fuel filter too often. At least when hours came due or just added it to the to do Autumn maintenance list. Filter looked clean. Nothing in the fuel filter holder bowl. But simple and easy to access. The Kubota BX looks to be a pita to change. The opaque plastic filter housing makes visual inspection a no go. IIRC, there are two filters? System looks a bit on the cheapo side. A dedicated filter clear filter housing with a bypass lever and simple replaceable element would have been better.
