Glad you're back up & running again. Can't say I'm familiar with that style filter, or I'm just not seeing it by your description.
One thing I want to say about bleeding high pressure fuel systems (& believe me, I'm not preaching here) is to be careful. Probably because I was trained as a diesel mechanic by Uncle Sam (USCG engineman) back in the early 70's, I'm always VERY wary of high pressure fuel systems. It was something BEAT into our heads all through "Class A" school: "Be VERY careful around HP fuel systems. Any leaks in the HP lines could spray fuel that will hurt or KILL you!"
