is anyone having a problem with the accuracy of their fuel gauge? both of the b-series tractors i have owned seem to be way off. the gauge reads a half tank or more but is really nearly empty....i almost ran my 2410 dry once because of this. am i expecting too much from kubota to be a bit more accurate?

I have a B2400 and my gauge is just the opposite. If my gauge shows almost empty I have at least 1/3 of a tank. That I don't mind. Kind of a saftey feature. Better than running out.

My 2910 fuel gauge is fairly accurate. I can let the needle get down to the red mark at empty without worrying about running out of fuel.
When I fill the tank up it will take a full 5 gallon can of fuel. When I look in tank it is about 2” from the top.

My 2910 Is right on. When I get down near E I put in 5 gals.

My new BX2200 does the exact same thing 1/2 equals empty. Dealer said it was likely a faulty sender/float in the tank.

Doug,
Well I seem to remember that the Diesel engine/tractor literature said it was self priming in the sales brochure, but the Owner's manual said you'd have to have it reprimed if you ran it out of fuel. Yet another conflict in information, but best plan is not let her run outta fual in any case. Only takes 5 gals to fill up my B2910 when I run it as low as I can take.

Regards,
Frank

There was an issue with the BX series on their fuel sender. If you are getting an inaccurate reading on your BX, call your dealer and ask if your serial number comes up on that list of tractors that had suck a problem. Most of the new tractors are self bleeding. There may be a round petcock valve on the end of the injection pump to open, other than that, it is self bleeding. On the BX series, you will have to crack the orifice bolt at the injection pump, and turn on the key so the electric fuel pump can push out the air. Wear safety glasses, and put something down on the ground, 'cause it will make a mess. In rare cases, you may have to crack the lines at the injectors one at a time until they are free of air.

Thanks for the info. I don't plan on running out when i get it, (who does) but you never know when you're out playing, uh, working hard. Kinda getting an idea of what to keep handy to get going again.

On the older Kubotas You would have to bleed the fuel lines every time you changed the fuel filter. The newer models are a lot more convenient.
