I have pretty new 3510i (24hrs). My question is regarding the fuel gauge...
when I fillup the tank, for the next couple of days the fuel gauge needle is all over the place ie..full,half full,emty,1/4 full,3/4 full, full etc.

Is this normal?

It sounds like their is a loose connection or bad ground for the fuel tank sender

I think that is normal. Mine does the same thing, but it's usually from tilting the tractor to one side or another.
I'm not sure, but I think the fuel gauge is in one tank only, and since there are 2 tanks, as the fuel moves back and forth, the gauge reacts.
I may be wrong, but that's what it seems like to me.

On another note, I've noticed that when I'm mowing on decline, that if the side with the fill cap is lower, fuel can spill out, no matter how tight I cap it.
Anybody else having that problem?

I have a Century 3035 which is the same as a Branson 3510. The manual indicates that, in fact, the fuel gauge will bounce around due to the 2 tanks with the gauge in one. Especially noticable if you are working on a hillside.
I agree - it can be very disconcerting but not much you can do. Just remember what the gauge show when on flat ground as you start working.

Hope that helps

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the 3510 only has one tank. Mine only has one anyway. My gauge has never worked right from day one. I can fill it up, it will register full, but will still have 5 gallons or so left in it when the gauge is reading empty. Used to bother me some, but I just get out my trusty yardstick anymore and stick the tank like in the old days... would be nice if it worked right tho....Brian

you may be right about the number of tanks.
I'm sorry, I have a 3647, and it has 2.
I thought they all did.

My '06 3510i does have 2 tanks.

The annoying part is after fill up the gauge will bounce around for a couple days (about 2 hrs seat time each day) on level ground. The gauge will settle down at full & seems to work properly until next fill up.

I suspected it had something to do with the 2 tanks.
