I bought the diesel in August. I agree, this made a believer out of me. I was reading my manual as I sat in disgust and it actually says to use 100% #1 when the temp is below 7 degrees F. I have another question. Should I drain one half of the tank out and add at least 50% #1 or do additives actually make #2 perform like #1? I'll keep you guys updated. I plan to try to fix this today. It's still blizzarding here. The only way to town right now is via snowmobile. We had a very harsh winter last year and the snow from the last 36 hours is worse than anything last year. Thanks for the help.
Are you talking about Diesel or Kero?
Quote:
1*Why would there be any difference in price ?
1*Cause if the police inspect your truck (and fuel) with no dyed fuel you are in trouble..
2*Hence, why HHO is cheaper. then diesel.
3*In case you do not know in your area, HHO and diesel are the same except the gov wants the tax
4* they dye the fuel for this reason.
5*And yea, I know some that got nailed using it .
6*Sales tax on the heating oil?

1*This is about on road fuel and has nothing to do with the subject of off road being discussed .
2*This is not correct .
The price is determined by where it's used and not what it's called or what's its used in or for.
3* HHO and diesel unless used on road are tax empt so neither are taxable .
4*they dye the fuel to make it easier to catch people illegally using it on the highway .
5*But you never met anyone that was nailed for using it illegally off road. .
Sales tax on the heating oil?
1*fuel tax for diesel and zero for HHO..
2*That is why people try and use HHO since they save, depends on your area but, here about $0.50 per gallon.
1*The tax is the same for HHO or Red Diesel since they are tax empt .
2*This applies the same to diesel
