The fuel injector pumps have a plate with two numbers, what do they mean?

YM1510 - 3T72SA, 8A715
YM1610D - 3T72SA, can not read 2nd number w/o removal

How would the 1610 fuel pump deliver more fuel than the 1510 fuel pump? Are the shims on the plungers different, the cam in the engines different, or the stroke length on the plungers? Would the 1510 fuel pump be interchangeable with the 1610?

Thanks to gbirky for pointing out that the number matches the engine number, and apparently the 1610 pump is not the original pump. I am still curious about the differences between the pumps. Also, I had the injectors rebuilt on the 1610, and the mechanic used the pump number to set the opening pressure. Is the injector opeing pressure different for the 1610 as compared to the 1510?
