Oil & Fuel Fuel Leak L3430

   / Fuel Leak L3430 #11
Isn't this system a gravity feed like my L2500? If I recall the line goes up to the injectors then into the top of the tank. I don't think there should be any pressure on it. I would check all the hoses to see if they are clogged. Also if it's that new of a tractor I'd check with the dealer, let them fix it.

Good Luck.

Rob:

To the best of my knowledge, all Kubota's have a lift pump to get the fuel to the injection pump.

Interesting but I don't think I missed it on my L2500. When I installed the Racor I ran the line from the tank bottom, to the Racor, then through the sheet metal to the bleeder valve on the injection pump. Gravity feed the whole way. Maybe the smaller tractors have a lift pump because everything is flatter (so to speak). My BIL's older L175 doesn't have one either if I recall. Out of all my documented pictures of my L2500, I don't have one with the engine covers off. On my to do list.

Just looked at his pics again, lift pump just below injection pump. And the 3430 should be a little bigger than mine but is a newer model. And I popped into my L2500 parts PDF, and no lift pump. Now I feel robbed!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I see alot of those on our fleet trucks. You need some off road diesel in there......the red will go with the orange /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess if the tank is above the pump, gravity will do the work. My tank(s) are below the cab.

[It seems that the line slowly gets pressurized (I guess about 10-15 psi) and then works its way off of the valve. After the pressure is relieved the line just slowly drips fuel. This line is cut just long enough to reach the bleed valve without any slack whatsoever, so this could be a factor.

Does anyone know if this line is supposed to get pressurized?]

Update:

I spoke to the mechanic at my dealer. The faulty hose runs from a fuel injector to the bleed valve and a little pressure in the line is normal. He suggested that I remove the hose from a support clamp to get more slack. I did this but the hose still falls off. My dealer is going to order a new hose/clamps and send the mechanic to my house to repair the tractor.

thats your fuell bleed off line. as you can tell, it was on the nipple when the engine was painted. the dealer probably loosened to bleed air during predelivery. hook it back on and go to work.

That would be cool. Neighbor runs it for his Fords. My BIL and his grand son have a tank but never set it up. Heck mine runs forever on that 7 gallons!! I'm trying to watch the hours and usage. BTW I did pull some water out of it the first time, since then nothing.

We'll, I installed the new hose, which by the way is an "improved" part from Kubota, it is much longer and is now wrapped in plastic weave. However, the hose still gets too much pressure and now leaks at the other end where it attaches to the fuel bleed line at the fuel injector (what a major pain to get to). I spoke to the head mechanic at my dealer. As noted by RobJ, the mechanic also suspects that I may have a clog in the bleed line or in the fuel tank, they are picking up the tractor tomorrow for repair.

We'll they picked up the tractor today. My dealer uses a roll back car hauler to pickup and deliver equipment. Anyway, after the tractor got up on the roll back, I noticed that the tractor was also leaking hydraulic fluid, (now what /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif). It looks like the fluid is all over the underneath, so I couldn't see the source of the leak. I hope my dealer gets these issues resolved. I expected better from Kubota, but maybe I am expecting too much. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You certainly don't seem to have much luck, this is almost like reading the Kioti discussions. Every once in a while even Kubota screws one up /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
