The media reports it is the last permitted build.

Also CA will ban all fossil fuel vehicles by ‘35. Combine that with the ban on home NG hookups and it looks like fossil fuels, ALL fossil fuels, are going to be banned.

Environmentalist gang? No I’m a practical land manager, a professional forester who produces a renewable product (wood). I do know enough about ecology to realize that polluting our soil and water isn’t sustainable long term. Foresters are trained to think long term. Most people don’t care about the future. I do.

What I don't understand is timber is one of our great natural resources and renewable.

Hundreds of thousands of acres burn every year yet using the most up to date EPA certified wood burner continues to be banned here... we even have billboards listing special phone numbers to report suspected wood burners and a dedicated enforcement team to investigate and cite...

As I write my friends in Europe are very glad they have the option to use their masonry wood fired ovens in times like now yet we are on a course of sole electric dependant or so it seems and hydro isn't getting a pass...

I suspect that as the whining reaches an unheard of level, never heard before, something will 'give'.

Do know one thing and that is, owners of guzzlers like full sized pickup trucks (gas or diesel) and land yacht SUV's that the automaker build today are getting a lesson in wallet sucking finance.

Kalifornia has always had high motor fuel costs, most of it attributable to their state's pollution regulations.

I suspect 'Detroit automakers are in for a profit bust this year.

We heat our home primarily with bio mass and have for years. I have propane as a backup but biomass primary and my primary biomass fuel is pelletized wood, mostly made from culled timber unsuitable for other end use or Forrest slash processed into pelletized biomass. My secondary fuel mix is off grade non marketable seed corn that would otherwise wind up in a landfill.

My biomass furnace is around 90% efficient and the particulates emitted (smoke) is almost nil. In fact, most time you can smell it (if the wind is right) but you'll rarely see any smoke at all. Most particulate emission happen at startup when the furnace is cold and the secondary burn isn't happening. Once the firebox gets to temperature, it does an under fire over fire secondary burn and eliminates 90% of the visible particulates.

Been heating with biomass for about 20 years now.

Those that need trucks for commerce will continue but picking the kids up from school or grocery getting???

The $200 fill up is already here and every vendor I do business with for the hospital is adding fuel surcharges...

Don't forget fuel is the backbone of air travel too...

I wouldn't be opposed to an electric in the household but with 40 mpg Corolla already and another 33 mpg Toyota it just doesn't pencil out.

I imagine my gifted 12 mpg Range Rover will see even less road time than the 2,000 miles it saw last year but the all wheel drive and weight it is still my best tow vehicle...

diesel is 4.99 as of yesterday here, and 4.22 for gas. Rving is going to suck this year. Time to get the motorcycle out, upwards of 60 on it

This is now a “crisis” For a majority of the population.
Like I said before. This is going to hurt, but huge changes are coming. I think the cavalry is getting saddled up. People wont stand for this. Even for a few months.
