fuel system problem

I inherited a problem with a new holland 4630. tractor was running, popped and blew black smoke. Then it started running rough. He changed filters and bled system. Now tractor starts and runs just a few seconds then stalls. Not sure of year, has turbo. Model #DA5P4C, engine # JA676233 7B10. Have not worked on tractors in a long time! Guidance and tips please!!

Does it still show black smoke for the short time it runs? Black smoke means it's over fueling. Could be a restricted intake (clogged air filter) or the turbo is not supplying additional airflow like it should. Might want to look into those. What was the "pop" you heard?
