Oil & Fuel fuel tank

I've run my 2028 out of fuel several times, and it really is the easiest diesel I have ever had to bleed. Turn the key on so the electric pump is running; crack the bleeder valve till the air bubbles quit; close the valve, and crank the engine till it starts. It'll spit and sputter until all the air is pushed through, but will start.

Wing, It is good to know that it is that easy to prime. If Murphy decides to become your co pilot an ace up the sleeve is worth a lot. Thanks for the info. Willie Jones

i'd thought i might post this problem as i've seen it too. don't have much to say but that i mentioned it to my dealer. he thought it might have something to do with working on slopes. said some people had problems with running out of fuel if the tractor was slanting the correct direction and the fuel wasn't crossing over. ?does the engine only full from one tank....with the other being an extra reservoir connected only by a crossover. the dealer said they might have made the fuel guage extra conservative to correct for this.

That is a good possibility....I stopped by my dealer the other day and he had forgotten to call the factory, so I have to stop again and see if he found out anything....I live in the Indy area, and it is about as flat as it gets, so I would like for my gauge to read more accurately.....If he doesn't get me an answer soon, I may try bending the gauge arm too.....thanks a bunch guys.....Brian

Hi, when I first got my 3520 the fuel gauge worked fine all the way to empty, almost 10 gallons. Lately, I'm empty at a 5 gallon reserve. I think that bending the arm isnt really going to help, or for long anyway. Most fuel senders work off of a progressive resistance and the only sure fix is to replace it. I did at one time clean my contact points (on a jeep) a long time ago and it worked perfectly. Mine hasn't been all that long that its been operating improperly, but now that I know a few others are having the problem it may be a recall item. We need to talk to our dealers. Thanks for the heads up. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well, I called my dealer in Charlottesville, Va. and I was informed that they had performed a couple/ few fuel sender replacements. They will get back with me when the part comes in to schedule the repair. This makes me real glad that I didn't buy out of state or territory. I've been happy with my dealer and my TRA'TOR! Keep up the good work.

Well, I called my dealer to check on the progress of the order for the sender and I've been informed that it is backordered. They will let me know when it comes in.

It seems every time I need something for my 3510 my dealer always says it is back ordered??? anyone having trouble getting parts for their Bransons??????

Well, the sender came in and it was replaced last Monday. I havent had the time to check its accuracy yet. The service man from C'ville Power came to the homestead, was polite and he got the job done quickly at no cost to me. I'll let you know more when I find out more. Thanks C'ville Power Equipment! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The 3520 gauge is very sensitive to attitude (no, no, not the operator's /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif). If the tractor isn't dead level, it doesn't give the correct reading. Mine has been that way from day one. I would suspect that the rest of the line has the same characteristic.

Experience should teach an owner how many hours he can run at a particular task before refueling. I have also learned to judge how much fuel is left by watching the change in the gauge as I transition from uphill to downhill and side to side, etc.

I will take these gauge anomalies, along with the nice low fuel filler, over the need to climb on the hood to refuel as some others have to do any day.
