Background -
Retirement home in Mississippi. Aging electric furnance. Get down here it won't come on. Repairman is booked up. Temps are about 55 degrees inside. Good sleeping temp but SWMBO would like daytime "work around the house" temp in the 60's. House came with a flueless "fake log fireplace" LPG unit in the living room (that SWMBO had wanted tore out). Fire it up and we have heat. SAFETY POLICE NOTE - We monitor CO.

Now we've a 250 gallon LPG tank about 60% full. I couldn't find ANYTHING on the web that would tell me approx fuel consumption in gallons. The best I could find was a fake log fireplace might put out about 10KW and use 640g max.

Thru other numbers - about 2KG/gallon for LPG, that seems to come out about 1/3 gallon per hour when run on full burn.

Does this sound about right?

THANKS.
