Good Mornin Jimmy,
Im not sure if these photos count ! :D The wood is in the basement allready, or a good portion of it ! ;) Three rows, 16 ft long by 6.5 ft high ! :) It should be a good start anyway ! :)

I actually have next years wood put up also, that would be still outside ! ;)

Not exactly a shed either....... most of my wood gets stacked on oak pallets and the top gets covered with a plastic tarp. This started as a very temporary solution, but has grown and has now been there for five years. I really want to build a wood shed, but my town will tax me on it...... so this is my cheap solution for the time being. I also keep a couple cord inside my barn so in the dead of January, I can pull from that pile without going outdoors. I generally try to keep at least a full year ahead, but this year I don't quite have all of 2010-2011's wood collected yet.

Feels good to have the firewood secured for the winter. I think we are in for a major one this year: crickets have been out for the past few weeks, deer are eating everything is sight - to fatten up.

The shed holds 8 cord plus another 4 stacked on the upper right of image. I burn between 4-5 cord per year.

I will start thinning my wooded area once fall arrives.

I think, the next time I start whining about the heat down here in Texas, I'm going to think about you guys and all your firewood and thank goodness I don't live where you live. Seeing all that firewood makes my back hurt. lol

Sheesh Thomas............ don't even get me started on the view tax !!!!:eek: Fortunately for us, the company that invented the 'view tax' hasn't figured out that when the leaves fall, we can see out across the Winnipesaukee River from our second story windows. :)

Woodchuckcanuck : .....Wow, a most impressive display of hard work. Nuff to keep you warm and cozy this winter. Very nice indeed!!

Say,...I'll just bet you made the "gingerbread" too,...am I right? I love that stuff on an old house. I notice in a couple subivisions near here, they are bringing it back into style,...but unfortunately its just molded plastic. However, the idea is appealing to a certain style house.

Unfortunately a previous owner tried to modernize my 153 year old stone farm house and ripped it all down, . . .(I'd injure the "@#$%&!" severely for that!!)

For the uneducated in matters relevant,...were not discussing "cookies",..but the fancy scroll-saw wood trim under the eaves of certain Victorian homes.

AND, I'm still jealous of you fellas (and gals) who have your wood in!!!! (I wish my wife would hurry up and get at it!!) Ooh, Ouch,..ok, ok, sorry!

CHEERS anyway!
. . tug

PS: Good grief boys and girls, wha'd I miss here?? I started this post, went to do some quick chores, came back finished this, posted it and then noticed all you guys and your wood piles!!! I am blown away, completely!
MOST impressive!!...what else can I say? WOW !! I'm outta here!

jimmy, the view tax we have here is an increase in your property tax if the assessor feels you have a 'view'. Interesting in a state as mountainous as NH....... like having a 'level ground' tax in Kansas???
