Great looking place! Now that's a project that will keep you hopping for years to come!

I have so many plans for the place. It is where I played as a child/teenager. I use to pick up arrowheads in the cotton field. The rain would always wash a trench right down the middle of the cotton field and that made for easy pickens. We use to get in the creek to catch crawdads and try to keep from getting snakebit. The field was our race track for our threewheeler and we cut firewoods there every year with my dad. It really means a lot to hang on to family land. It has been in the family for over 100 years. I spent the better part of today putting in a culvert pipe and building the driveway up more. I would put 2 or 3 buckets of dirt in the back of the Gator and my buddy would run and dump it and every so often I would take the tractor down there and smooth it out. Hopefully the house will be started in the spring. After the house I will get started on a pond. My mother in law has an old log cabin that her late husband bought and had moved to their house. The logs are the only thing original about it. He put a new floor in and a shingle roof. She says we can have it. I plan to put it beside the pond, add a tin roof and put a front porch on it. It is only about 12 X 12 ft. I think it would look nifty out by the pond. Sort of rustic don't you think?

When you get the building with the porch done by the pond don't forget to add a ringer washing machine next to the rocking chairs.

Now you have a picture.

Very nice, Brent. It looks like lots of work and lots of fun. Does the little creek have water most of the year? My little creek only has water when it rains and for about 2 weeks after. I love those little creeks with frogs, tadpoles, and little fish swimming about. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You don't know how close you are. Actually the cabin looks a little more rustic. But there is an old millrace that runs through the property. About an 1/8th mile down the road there was an old grist mill that got it's water from this creek. I have told my wife I would like to build a water wheel to attach to the cabin. The creek has a steady flow of water year round, even in hot dry Alabama Augusts.

This cabin is a scaled down version for a landscaping project I started several years ago. It houses the water pump. Another picture attached.

All right Shopin,

Where is this beer cabin in Lower Michigan?

It's in my front yard. It's a self-inflicted landscaping creation of mine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
