I've got an FX24D & the tractor "pulsates" when running. Hard to describe but it feels like a steady shake every second or two. Any ideas?

What do you mean by "running"? Is it moving, just sitting idling, hydraulics working?

When it's sitting idling still although may do it when moving but if so, it's harder to notice but I'll pay more attn. next time I drive it. Hydraulics work but bucket doesn't stay up very well once you put weight in it...

1. Have you cleaned the Hydraulic filter screen lately? Its located on the under side of the machine

2. Also it sounds like your 3 point adj arm is out of adjustment, did you turn on it with a wrench where it comes out of the tractor top end?

3. Did you turn the 3 point adj knob, its located right between your ankles when seated on the tractor.

4. Do you have the correct hydraulic filter installed, ( if not) it will pulsate because its not circulating enough fluid.

Lots of questions...

does the 3pt stay up when the tractor is off?

Sorry for the delayed reply, been busy working. No the 3 point hitch goes down almost immediately when I turn the tractor off but the FEL stays up.

Have you checked the 4 things mentioned in the post above?

my 3110 does this. I think it's the 3 point valve. I haven't replaced it yet. Last I checked, they didn't have any

Aren't you hiding out somewhere in the Bahamas these days? I also am "In the palm trees by the sea", (Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.).

Thanks for the ideas Ernie. I'm not familiar w/ this tractor, just bought it last Fall. Where is the hydraulic filter screen located underneath / what does it look like? I have not messed w/ the adjuster knob, all that does is regulate the speed that the 3 pt hitch moves, correct? I haven't changed the hyd fluid or filter since purchasing, guess I should do that. What kind of fluid & what filter does it take? I don't have a manual for this tractor & y'all have been a wealth of info so far!

The screen is cleanable. The 195/240 operation manual recommends changing fluid and cleaning strainer every 300 hours. Probably a good guide for your FX24D. You should also change the screw on filter.

the knob under the seat IS NOT used to control 3pt descent speed, it is a service knob that locks out the system and will hold the fluid inside the piston for service. To control the speed there is a different mechanism on the side of the top of the 3pt under the seat that has a 90 degree lever on it push it one way to slow it and push it the other to increase the speed it falls. The knob under the seat between your knees should always be open unless your using it to diagnose 3pt problems or some other task like that.
